Pool Fee Beginner

A pool fee is the percentage a mining pool retains from rewards in exchange for aggregating hashrate and distributing payouts.

Typical fees run between one and two percent. Lower is not automatically better: payout scheme, minimum thresholds, server reliability and geographic latency all affect what you actually receive.

Any honest profitability calculation must subtract the pool fee, which is why our calculator asks for it rather than assuming zero.

This definition is educational and not financial advice. Crypto is volatile and high-risk — always do your own research.
