This policy explains what Cryptocurrency Miners collects, why, and what you can do about it. We collect as little as we reasonably can.
What we collect
- Nothing to read the site. No account is required to read articles, use The Miner’s Dashboard, or use any tool. There is no paywall and no sign-up wall.
- Newsletter email addresses, only if you choose to subscribe to The Hashrate. You can unsubscribe from any issue.
- Messages you send us through the contact page, which we keep only as long as needed to deal with them.
- Standard server logs such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, used for security and to keep the site running.
- Aggregate analytics about how pages are used, so we can see what is useful.
What we do not do
We do not sell your personal data. We do not ask for, want, or have any use for your wallet address, seed phrase, private keys or exchange credentials. Our tools and calculators run in your browser: the figures you type into the profitability calculator are not transmitted to us or stored.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies and similar local storage, including remembering your light or dark theme preference. Details are in our cookie policy.
Third parties
Our live data is proxied through our own servers, which means loading our pages does not send your browser to third-party data APIs. Advertising and newsletter delivery involve third-party providers who process data on our behalf. Outbound links to other websites are governed by those sites’ own policies.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Under GDPR and CCPA this includes the right to request deletion of newsletter and contact data. Write to us through the contact page and we will action it.
Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If we change this policy materially we will update this page and change the date below.
