Bitcoin halving countdown
Block 962,201 of 1,050,000. At the halving the reward drops from 3.1250 BTC to 1.5625 BTC per block, which halves the revenue side of every Bitcoin miner's economics overnight.
This countdown is an estimate derived from the blocks remaining and the target block time. Blocks arrive irregularly, so the real date moves.

How to read this board
Hashrate and difficulty move together
Network hashrate is the total computing power pointed at a chain. Difficulty is the protocol's answer to it: as hashrate climbs, difficulty adjusts upward so blocks keep arriving on schedule. For an individual miner this is the thing that quietly erodes returns, because your fixed hashrate is a shrinking slice of a growing network.
The block reward is the revenue side, and it is scheduled to fall
Miners are paid a block reward plus transaction fees. On Bitcoin and Litecoin that reward halves on a fixed schedule, which is why the halving countdown matters: it is a known, dated cut to mining revenue. Dogecoin is the exception here, with a fixed reward and no further halvings.
Electricity is usually what decides profitability
Two people running identical hardware can get opposite results purely on power price. That is why the calculator asks for your rate rather than assuming one, and why we publish the formula rather than just the answer.
