Miners receive the block subsidy plus the transaction fees included in their block. On Bitcoin and Litecoin the subsidy halves on a fixed schedule; on Dogecoin it has been fixed at 10,000 per block since 2015.
Because the schedule is public, every future cut to mining revenue is knowable in advance. That is what makes a halving a dated, predictable shock rather than a surprise.
