These are averages, not schedules. Solo mining is a random process: finding a block is a lottery each attempt, so the "average time to find a block" is a statistical expectation, not a countdown. You may find one far sooner or go far longer than the figure shown. The estimate also holds today's network hashrate and block reward constant, and both change — difficulty has historically trended upward. Mining in a pool smooths payouts but does not change your expected long-run share.
Your expected share of a network is your hashrate divided by the total network hashrate. Multiply that share by the number of blocks per day and the current block reward and you get your expected coins per day; from there the time to mine any target amount follows. The important caveat is that solo mining is a random process. The "average time to find a block" is a statistical expectation over many attempts, not a countdown timer, and an individual miner may find a block far sooner or go far longer than the average. Mining in a pool converts that lottery into smaller, steadier payouts but does not change your expected long-run share. Figures use live network data and assume today's hashrate and reward hold.

FAQ

Is the block time a countdown?

No. It is a statistical average. Solo mining is a lottery on every attempt, so you may find a block much sooner or go far longer than the average shown.

Does joining a pool make it faster?

It does not change your expected long-run earnings, but it replaces rare large payouts with frequent small ones, which makes income far more predictable.

Why is my share such a small percentage?

Large networks have enormous total hashrate. A single modern ASIC is a very small fraction of Bitcoin's hundreds of exahashes per second, which is exactly why solo mining a block is so unlikely.
