Live network data:

This is an estimate, not a guarantee. It holds today's network hashrate, block reward and coin price constant for the whole payback period. All three move continuously, and mining difficulty has historically trended upward, which shrinks your share of the block reward over time. A payback period shown here can lengthen substantially, or never arrive. It excludes hosting, cooling, maintenance, downtime and taxes. Nothing here is financial advice. See our methodology.
This calculator divides the cost of your hardware by its estimated net profit per day, using live network hashrate, the block reward computed from current block height, and the live coin price. The result is the point at which cumulative mining profit equals what you paid for the machine. It is an estimate built on a strong assumption: that difficulty, block reward and price all stay exactly where they are today. In practice network hashrate has trended upward for most of Bitcoin's history, which steadily shrinks any fixed rig's share of the reward, and price moves in both directions. A payback period shown here can lengthen considerably or never arrive. It also excludes hosting, cooling, maintenance, downtime and tax. Nothing here is financial advice.

FAQ

Why does it say my rig never breaks even?

Because at the inputs you entered, the power cost is higher than the mining revenue, so the machine loses money every day it runs. Lower your electricity rate, use more efficient hardware, or check the coin price.

Does it account for rising difficulty?

No. It holds today's network hashrate, block reward and price constant. Difficulty has trended upward over most of Bitcoin's history, so a real payback period is usually longer than a static estimate suggests.

Are hosting and cooling included?

No. The figure covers hardware cost and electricity only. Hosting, cooling, maintenance, downtime and tax all add to the real total.
